Alfred State College sophomore basketball player Brittney Brooks (Elmira Free) has been named a 1st team pre-season NJCAA Division II All-American.  Brooks is one of two Region III athletes to be chosen for the honor.

Twenty Alfred State College student athletes have been honored with academic awards.  Eleven Pioneers were named NJCAA Academic All-American, 13 were named Academic All-Region, and 20 were named Academic All Conference.

Brittney BrooksAlfred State College women's basketball player Brittney Brooks (Elmira Free) has been named a third team NJCAA All-American.  This is the third straight year a Lady Pioneer has earned All-American honors.

Alfred State College sophomore Brittney Brooks (Elmira Free) has been named the Region III Division II Player of the Year.  Her teammate and cousin Sherelle Brooks (Elmira Free) was also honored with a honorable All-Region selection.  Brittney Brooks becomes the second straight Lady Pioneer to earn the player of the year honor (Anthia Smith - 2008).

The Alfred State College rallied from a 16-point second half deficit to tie the game at 48-48 with 4:30 remaining but Erie CC finished the game on a 16-5 run to advance to the Region III Division II Final Four.  The Lady Pioneers close out the season with a 10-14 mark while the Lady Kats improve to 15-12 and will take on #1 seeded Genesee CC.

The Alfred State College women's basketball team has earned the #4 seed for the upcoming Region III Division II Tournament.  The Lady Pioneers finished the regular season with a 10-13 mark and a 5-5 record in Region III Division II play.

The Alfred State College women's basketball team held on for a 56-55 victory over Jamestown CC in their regular season finale.  The Lady Pioneers finish the regular season with a 10-13 mark (5-5 Region III Division II) while JCC falls to 17-11 (6-4 Region III Division II).

The Monroe CC women's basketball team used their height advantage as they downed Alfred State College 98-53.  The Lady Tribunes, ranked #11 in the latest NJCAA Division I poll, out-rebounded ASC (9-13) 67 to 29 (33 to 7 on the offensive glass).

The Alfred State College women's basketball team has joined the Women's Basketball Coaches Association (WBCA) Pink Zone cause.  The Lady Pioneers have joined over 1,500 colleges in raising money for the Kay Yow Cancer Fund.  ASC's Pink Zone contest will be held on Saturday February 21 when Alfred State takes on Jamestown CC at 1 p.m.
