The Alfred State College men's outdoor track and field team finished as the Region III runner-up at this weekend's Region III Championships held at Alfred State.  The Pioneers scored 160 points and finished 35.5 points behind Region III Champion SUNY Cobleskill.

The Alfred State College women's outdoor track and field team finished 5th at the Region III Championships held at Alfred State College this weekend.  The Lady Pioneers scored 92 points during the two day event.

The Alfred State College track and field team had three individual event winners in day one action at the Region III Championships.  The men's team is currently sitting in 1st place out of the seven teams while the women are in 4th.

Alfred State College will host the 2008 Region III Outdoor Track & Field Championships this Friday and Saturday at the new on-campus athletic complex.  Alfred State will battle with SUNY Cobleskill, SUNY Delhi, Erie CC, Finger Lakes CC, Herkimer CCC, and Mohawk Valley CC.

The Alfred State College track & field team wrapped up the regular season with a strong showing at the Big Red Invitational at Cornell University.  The Pioneers had four athletes place in the competition that featured NCAA Division I, Division III, and NJCAA schools.

Alfred State College's Dan Reynolds (Wayland Cohocton) finished 6th in the Region III Decathlon Championship.  Teammate Paul Farrell (St. Francis) is in 7th.

The Alfred State College track and field teams remain in the top ten of the latest NJCAA Division III poll.  The men's team remains ranked #5 while the women slipped down to #8 after being ranked #6 last week.
