The Alfred State College men’s basketball team led for the first 32 minutes of the game but Jamestown CC tied it and outscored the Pioneers 20-16 in the final eight minutes to earn a 69-65 victory.
An undermanned Alfred State College men's basketball team gave Genesee CC all they could handle on Tuesday night. The eight Pioneers that dressed trailed by only five at half but could never gain the lead in the second half and fell 85-74.
Changes have been made to the schedule for Alfred State College's basketball doubleheader on Tuesday evening. The men's contest at Genesee CC will be now played at 4 p.m. followed by the women battling at 6 p.m.
Changes were necessary due to the impending forecast of poor weather.
The Alfred State College men's basketball team led by as many as 16 in the 1st half but Niagara CCC used a 25-0 run that spanned the last six minutes of the 1st half and a the first five of the 2nd half to rally for a 79-66 victory.
Jamestown-Olean connected on eight 3-pointers in the first half en route to a 75-59 victory over Alfred State. JCC's hot shooting helped them build a 38-28 halftime lead which they never relinquished.
#3 Erie CC went on a 22-6 run to start the game en route to a 96-58 victory at the Flickenger Center on Tuesday. ASC falls to 3-13 (0-4 WNYAC) on the year while ECC improves to 16-1 (5-0 WNYAC).
Monroe CC led throughout as they defeated Alfred State 64-48 in a WNYAC contest Saturday afternoon at the Orvis Activities Center. MCC improves to 10-7 on the year while ASC falls to 3-12.
Mercyhurst North East outscored Alfred State 9-2 in the final three minutes of the first half to break a 21-21 en route to a 77-67 WNYAC victory. ASC is now 3-11 (0-2 WNYAC) on the season while MNE is 10-3 (1-1).
The Alfred State College men's basketball team returned to action after over a month off and fell 66-50 in their 2011 and WNYAC opener. ASC led 25-24 at half but was unable to hold the lead. The Pioneers are now 3-10 on the season.
Josh Griffin (Englewood, NJ) followed up a missed lay-up with 0.8 seconds remaining to lift the Alfred State College men's basketball team to a 68-67 victory over CC of Beaver County on Tuesday evening.
