Alfred State College sophomores Ryan Speciale (Corning West), Chase Bailey (Corning West), and Michael Fingar (Shenendehowa) were all named All-Region. Speciale was a first team selection whil Bailey and Fingar were honorable mention.
The Alfred State College athletic department presented their annual end-of-year athletic awards during a ceremony held at the Lake Lodge on May 3rd. The athlete of the year, sportsmanship, leadership, academic, and William Havens awards were presented.
Alfred State scored the first 11 goals and led 17-1 at halftime as they capped their season with a 23-3 victory over Tompkins Cortland CC. The Pioneers finish 5-9 overall and 5-7 in Region III play.
Jefferson CC outscored Alfred State 5-2 in the final quarter to down the Pioneers 19-15 on Saturday. The Pioneers head into their final regular season game on Sunday with a 4-9 overall mark and a 4-7 Region III record.
#3 ranked and NJCAA defending national champion Onondaga CC raced past Alfred State on Wednesday, 33-4. ASC falls to 4-8 on the year (4-6 Region III) while OCC improves to 12-2.
Alfred State College sophomore Chase Bailey (Corning West) has been named the Region III men's co-athlete of the week. Bailey's teammate Ryan Speciale (Corning West) also hit a milestone this past week by recording his 100th career point.
Ten different Pioneers found the back of the net as Alfred State won their second game in a row 23-10 over Niagara CCC. The blue & gold improve to 4-7 on the season and 4-5 in Region III contests.
Alfred State won 23 out of 29 faceoffs in a 20-5 victory over Finger Lakes CC on Friday afternoon. The blue & gold are now 3-7 on the season heading into their final four games of the regular season.
#4 Monroe CC held the Alfred State lacrosse team off the scoreboard for the final 40 minutes as they improved to 11-1 with a 23-5 victory. The Pioneers fall to 2-7 on the year.
The Alfred State College lacrosse team snapped a six game losing streak with a 8-6 victory over Mercyhurst North East on Saturday at Pioneer Stadium. The win improves the Pioneers to 2-6 overall and and 2-4 in Region III play.
