#7 Monroe CC defeated Alfred State 21-6 in a WNYAC match-up in Rochester on Tuesday afternoon. The win is the Tribunes 6th straight and improves them to 7-4 while the Pioneers fall to 0-8.
Mercyhurst North East outshot Alfred State 63-12 in a 30-7 victory on Saturday afternoon. The Saints outscored ASC 11-1 in the 2nd and 10-1 in the 3rd.
The Alfred State College lacrosse team was held scoreless in the 4th quarter and saw their 5-4 lead evaporate in a 8-5 loss to Cayuga CC. The Spartans are now 3-4 on the year while the Pioneers are 0-6.
SUNY Delhi outscored Alfred State 10-1 in the second and third quarters en route to a 16-8 victory in the Pioneers home opener. Delhi is now 2-4 on the season while ASC falls to 0-5.
The Alfred State College lacrosse team couldn't down #10 Genesee CC in their final road game before opening up the home portion of their schedule. The Cougars improved to 5-1 with a 22-10 victory.
The Alfred State College lacrosse team struggled in the second half and fell 18-6 to Herkimer CCC in cold and windy conditions. The Pioneers trailed just 5-3 at half but were outscored 13-3 in the second.
Hudson Valley CC used two big runs in a 16-9 victory over Alfred State on Saturday in a contest played at RPI. The Pioneers are now 0-2 on the young season.
The Alfred State College lacrosse team fell 11-4 to Delaware Tech (Terry Campus) in their 2011 season opener. The Pioneers trailed 5-4 at half but the Hawks held them scoreless the rest of way to improve to 2-5 on the season.
Alfred State College sophomore swimmer Ethan Wright (Clyde Savannah) has been named second team All-Region.
Four members of the 2010 Alfred State College lacrosse team have earned All-WNYAC honors. Ryan Speciale (Corning West) and Chase Bailey (Corning West) were named to the 1st team while James Moss (Hilton) and Nick Young (West Seneca West) were 2nd team selections.
