Cross Country runner Tara Murphy (Rochester/Wilson) and football player John Wood (Rochester/East) have been named the ASC Athletes of the Week by the Sports Information department.
440 yards of offense and an 87-yard kickoff return sent the Homecoming crowd home happy as Alfred State defeated Stevens Tech 49-27. The win improves ASC to 2-1 on the year while Stevens Tech is now 2-2.

Alfred State College Vice President for Student Affairs Dr. Steve Tyrell has announced that Dr. Daryl Arroyo has been named the new Director of Athletics, Physical Education, Recreation and Intramurals. Arroyo, who succeeds Kathy Feldman, begins his new duties at Alfred State on June 29.
Tara Murphy (Rochester/Wilson) and Colter Johnson (Warren, PA) were named the 2011 Alfred State College freshman athletes of the year. Murphy ran to All-American honors in track & field while Johnson punted his way to All-American on the football gridiron.
For the second year in a row Mick Caba and the Alfred State College football team will host a bone marrow drive in support of the Be the Match Registry. This year's event will take place on Wednesday April 6th between 11 a.m. and 3 p.m. in the Student Gathering Place in Central Dining Hall.
