Jenna Lynn (York) and Alonzo Joyner (Queens/Information Technology) have been named the ASC Athletes of the Week by the SID office.
The Alfred State College football team has added a home game for Saturday Oct. 29th versus the Onondaga Ogre Football Club. Kickoff will be at 3:30 p.m. at Pioneer Stadium.
Alfred State and Wright State Club struggled to put points on the boards but the Raiders defense put together a goal line stand in the final minutes of the game to perserve a 11-7 victory.
Meghan Kraus (Trumansburg) and Anthony Turner (Syracuse/Corcoran) have been named the ASC Athletes of the Week by the SID office.
Rasheed Williams rushed for 263 yards and two scores as Louisburg College defeated Alfred State in the rain and wind 23-0 on Saturday. The Hurricanes are now 6-1 on the year while the Pioneers fall to 3-3.
Football player Desmond Goode (Johnson Mountain, VA) and cross country runner Brian Gooshaw (Elmira Heights/Thomas Edison) have been named ASC athletes of the week by the SID office.
Alfred State rushed for 452 yards as they defeated Alfred University JV 51-35 in the first ever in season match-up between the two schools. The Pioneers improve to 3-2 on the year while AU JV falls to 1-4.
Due to a cancellation of their scheduled contest at Lycoming, the Alfred State College football team will now play at home on Sunday (10/9) versus Alfred University JV. Kickoff is slated for 1 p.m. at Pioneer Stadium.
Alfred State couldn't overcome seven turnovers (four fumbles & three interceptions) as they fell 31-21 to Globe Institute of Technology in Brooklyn. ASC is now 2-2 on the year while Globe is 5-1.
Alfred State College freshmen defensive back John Wood (Rochester/East) has been named the NJCAA special teams player of the week. Wood was instrumental in the Pioneers 49-27 victory over Stevens Tech on Saturday.
