Septh named NJCAA & Region III Athlete of the Week

Alfred State College sophomore wide receiver Mike Septh (Monroe Woodbury) has been named the NJCAA Offensive Player of the Week and the Region III Male Athlete of the Week.  Septh helped the Pioneers to a 27-6 victory over Berean Institute on Saturday.

Alfred State forced seven turnovers and the offense accumulated 437 yard in a 27-6 victory over Berean Institue at Maple City Park on Saturday afternoon.  The Pioneers improve to 3-4 on the year and snap a three game losing streak.
Abrams Named NFC Defensive Player of the Week

Ninos and Septh Named Athletes of the Week

Soccer player Jody Ninos (Alfred Almond) and football player Mike Septh (Monroe Woodbury) have been named the Alfred State College athletes of the week.
Pioneers fall in final seconds

Dean College's Anthony Rodriguez hit Dreyan Willis with a 33-yard pass with five seconds remaining to lift the Bulldogs to a 34-28 victory over Alfred State on Saturday afternoon.  The scoring strike happened just 19 seconds after Jermell Corbitt (Naples, FL) connected with Mike Septh (Monroe Woodbury) on a six-yard score to tie the game at 28-28.
Balanced Attack leads Globe past Alfred State

Globe Institute of Technology used a balanced offensive attack to down Alfred State College 28-13 in the first meeting between the two schools.  The Knights gained 458 yards on 94 offensive plays and held the ball for 37:16 of the contest to improve to 3-2 on the season while the Pioneers fall to 2-3 after amassing just 230 yards.
A-State Can't Overcome Early Deficit

Hudson Valley CC scored two touchdowns in the games opening seven and half minutes and was able to hold off Alfred State 21-7 in a Northeast Football Conference battle.  The Vikings improve to 3-1 (1-1 NFC) while the Pioneers fall to 2-2 (0-1 NFC).
Corbin honored by NFC

For the second week in a row Alfred State College wide receiver/kick returner Calvin Corbin (Winslow, NJ) has been honored by the Northeast Football Conference.  Corbin will share special teams player of the week honors with Erie CC's John Rachuna.
Special Teams and Defense lead Pios past X-Men

The Alfred State College football team scored three special teams touchdowns and two defensive touchdowns in a 49-14 victory over the Niagara X-Men in their 2007 home opener.  With the win the Pioneers improve to 2-1 on the year as they head into their Northeast Football Conference opener next weekend.
McMahon and Tamme Named Athletes of the Week
