Trio of Pioneers receive Chancellor's Award

Three Alfred State College athletes have been awarded the SUNY Chancellor's Scholar Athlete Award for excellence academically and athletically. Gallaway Longenecker (Manheim, PA), Zak Williamson (Rocky Point), and Keenan Hall (Monticello) were honored by SUNY and Chancellor Dr. John B. Clark.

The Alfred State College athletic department recently handed out their end-of-year awards at a ceremony held at college's Lake Lodge.

A-State to Induct Three into Hall of Fame

The Alfred State College athletic department will induct three new members into the Athletic Hall of Fame on January 26. Kathryn Stedman (volleyball & softball), Joseba Sarriegui (cross country & track & field), and Mike Brown (baseball) will be inducted at a brunch ceremony in the Allegany Room of Central Dining Hall and then honored in between games of the basketball doubleheader with Jamestown CC the same afternoon.

Williamson finishes 18th at NJCAA Half Marathon

Alfred State College sophomore Zak Williamson (Rocky Point) continued his solid fall running season with an 18th place finish at the NJCAA Half Marathon Championships. Williamson along with two teammates finished 12th out of 15 teams that competed.

Men's Cross Country finishes 10th

The Alfred State College men's cross country team registered another top ten finish at Saturday's NJCAA Division III National Championship. The Pioneers finished 10th out of 18 teams at the 8k race held at Sunken Meadow State Park in Selden, NY.

Williamson Named All-Region

Alfred State College sophomore Zak Williamson (Rocky Point) has ran his way to 1st team All-Region honors. Williamson led the Pioneers to a 4th place finish at the Region III Championships and will lead the men's team in this weekend's NJCAA Division III Championship.

McMahon and Williamson named Athletes of the Week

Volleyball player Brianne McMahon (Buffalo/Sweet Home) and cross country runner Zak Williamson (Rocky Point) have been named the Alfred State College athletes of the week.

Men finish 4th, Women 7th at Regionals

The Alfred State College men's cross country team finished 4th out of eight teams and the women finished 7th at the Region III Championships held at SUNY Delhi on Saturday. The men scored a 118 and the women scored a 159.

Cross Country remains #7
