Cross Country Remains Near Top of National Poll

The Alfred State College cross country program remained near the top in the latest NJCAA poll.  The women's team remained ranked #2 while the men jumped up a spot and are now ranked #3.

The men's and women's cross country teams have both received national recognition this week with the women ranked 2nd and the men ranked 4th in the latest NJCAA Division III poll.
Cross Country finishes 5th at CCRI

Both the Alfred State College men's and women's cross country teams earned 5th place finishes at the CC of Rhode Island Invitational.  The race featured 13 schools and was a preview of the National Championship that will be held at CCRI on November 8.
Cross Country Ranked #3

The Alfred State College cross country team remained in the top five of the latest NJCAA Division III poll.  The women's team remained ranked #3 while the men moved up and are tied for #3.  Both teams had solid performances at the Houghton College Invitational last weekend.
Cross Country Compete Well at Houghton Invitational

The men's and women's cross country teams both competed well at the Highlander Invitational at Houghton College.  The men captured 3rd place out of eight teams while the women finished in 7th place.

Q & A with Cross Country's Corey Smith

In an ongoing effort to allow the Alfred State sports fan a glimpse into the life of a Pioneer athlete, this weeks subject for Q & A is Corey Smith (Wallkill).  Smith finished third at the Bridgman Invitational, helping the Pioneer cross country earn a first place finish.  We asked Corey some questions to help you get to know him better.
Cross Country Sweeps FLCC Invitational

Both the men's and women's cross country teams at Alfred State College finished on top of the leaderboard at the Finger Lakes CC Bruce Bridgeman Invitational.  The men won by 13 points while the women won by five.
Cross Country Teams Move Up Poll to #5

Both the men's and women's cross country teams at Alfred State moved up the polls in the latest NJCAA Division III rankings.  The men's team is currently ranked #5 while the women share the #5 ranking with Hudson Valley CC.
Cross Country wins ASC Invitational

The Alfred State College men's cross country team won their own invitational as they opened up the 2008 season.  Alfred State's John Sweeney (Barker) won the men's race while Lady Pioneer Ashley Fung (Greenwich) won the women's race.
