The Civic Engagement and Activism Headquarters at Alfred State College conducted a food drive prior to Christmas during which the members collected four large boxes of food from the students of Alfred State College.

Student Health Services at Alfred State College has achieved re-accreditation by the Accreditation Association for Ambulatory Health Care (AAAHC). The award is given to those ambulatory care centers that have met nationally recognized standards for quality health care.
Alfred State College students once again participated in the Student Senate and ACES (Auxiliary Campus Enterprises and Services, the campus dining and vending organization) sponsored "Give Up A Meal" (GUAM) program whereby students who donate a "meal punch" help raise money for charity.

The Alfred State College Alumni Singers will present a "We Need a Little Christmas" Concert, Sunday, Dec. 14, 2008, at 2 p.m. at the Alfred Town Fire Hall-Theatre, University Street. Anthony Cappadonia, director; Patricia Wiggers, accompanist. The concert is open to the public free of charge; light refreshments will be served following the concert.
