Pioneers Win First of Season

The Alfred State College baseball used a five-run 2nd inning en route to their first victory of the 2011 season, 8-6 over Rock Valley (IL) College.  The Pioneers are now 1-3 halfway through their trip to Cocoa, FL.

For the second day in a row, the Alfred State College baseball team fell in eight innings.  Sunday, the blue & gold fell 8-7 to ASA Institute.

Pioneers Open up Season with Tough Losses

The Alfred State College baseball team opened up their 2011 spring season with two tough losses at Cocoa Expo.  The Pioneers fell 2-1 to Dean (MA) College and then lost an eight-inning contest 6-3 to Miami (OH) Middletown.

Baseball and Softball announce Spring Training Schedules

The Alfred State College baseball and softball teams have announced the schedules for their upcoming spring trips.  The baseball team will be heading to Cocoa Expo in Cocoa, FL while the softball team will be at Snowbird Softball in Myrtle Beach, SC.

Frey Signs with Delaware State

Alfred State College sophomore baseball player JP Frey (Erie, PA/McDowell) has signed a letter of intent to continue his academic and athletic career at Delaware State University.  Frey made his decision during the early signing period and will join the Hornets in the fall of 2011.

Frey and Mann Named All-WNYAC

Alfred State College sophomore baseball players JP Frey (Erie, PA/McDowell) and Tyler Mann (Holland Patent) have been named All-WNYAC following the Pioneers fall season.  ASC finished the fall campaign with a 4-11 overall record and a 3-10 WNYAC mark.

Baseball's Fall Season Comes to an End

The Alfred State College baseball team's fall season came to an end following a 3-1 loss to Niagara CCC in the WNYAC Tournament 1st round.  The Pioneers wrap up the fall with a 4-11, 3-10 WNYAC, record.

Baseball Pushed Back a Day

Tuesday's WNYAC Tournament 1st round contest between #2 Niagara CCC and #7 Alfred State has been rained out.  The two teams will try to play the game on Wednesay afternoon at NCCC with first pitch scheduled for 3:30 p.m.

Baseball to Travel to Niagara for WNYAC 1st Round

The Alfred State College baseball team will travel to #2 seeded Niagara CCC on Tuesday for a 1st round WNYAC tournament contest.  The Pioneers enter the tournament with a 3-9 mark in WNYAC play this fall while the Thunderwolves are 7-5.  First pitch is scheduled for 3:30 p.m.

Pioneers Swept at Genesee

The Alfred State College baseball team was swept by Genesee CC in their final regular season WNYAC doubleheader.  GCC won 4-0 and 12-2 to send the Pioneers into the WNYAC tournament with a 4-10 overall record and a 3-9 mark in WNYAC play.
