Coach Gary Moore with autographed running shoesGary Moore has been named the NJCAA Division III men's cross country coach of the year following Alfred State's 2nd place finish at the National Championships.  Moore was chosen for the award by his fellow coaches.

Four members of the Alfred State College cross country team ran to NJCAA Division III honors with top 15 finishes at the National Championships last weekend at Finger Lakes CC.  John Sweeney (Barker) earned first team, Brandon Lewis (Red Creek) and Carey Crooker (Addison) earned second team, and Joe Seitz (Williamsville North) was third team.

The Alfred State College wrestling team opened up the 2009-10 season with a convincing 36-12 victory over Jamestown CC.  The Pioneers won eight of the nine matches wrestled.

Cayuga CC hit two foul shots with 6.8 seconds remaining to defeat the Alfred State College men's basketball 81-80.  The Pioneers fall to 2-3 on the season.

Megan Coates (Nazareth) hit a 10 foot jumper with four seconds left to lift the Alfred State College women's basketball team to a 72-71 victory over Cayuga CC on Tuesday evening.  The Lady Pioneers improve to 2-1 on the year.

At the Monroe CC Classic, the Alfred State College men's basketball team split a pair of games.  The Pioneers defeated SUNY Delhi 70-69 in overtime on Saturday but fell 59-49 to CCAC Allegheny on Sunday.

The Alfred State College swimming team had a solid showing at their opening invitational of the season.  The men's team finished 2nd out of six teams at the Genesee CC Harvest Invitational while the women finished 3rd.

The Alfred State College men's cross country team finished as NJCAA Division III National Runner-Ups at the National Championship at Finger Lakes CC on Saturday.  ASC scored 70 points and trailed just SUNY Delhi's 22.

The Alfred State College women's cross country team entered the NJCAA Division III National Championships ranked #5 in the national poll and raced to a 5th place finish.  The Lady Pioneers scored a 141.
