Alfred State College is ready to rock into its second century by presenting a Rusted Root concert as part of Homecoming/Family Weekend, Friday, Sept. 12, at 8 p.m. in the Orvis Activities Center.
A mid-summer rain couldn't dampen the spirits of those who gathered at Alfred State College recently to dedicate the Professor Eddy Foster Memorial Bench and Garden.
Michelle Green, MPS, RHIA, CMA(AAMA), CPC, FAHIMA (NY), SUNY (State University of New York) Distinguished Teaching Professor, Physical and Life Sciences Department, Alfred State College, has received the 2008 FORE Triumph Educator Award from the American Health Information Management Association (AHIMA).
The Alfred State College Alumni Association has chosen to partner with PCI Publishing Concepts to create a new Alumni Directory. This is long overdue as the last directory was published in 1994 and since that time nearly 15,000 new alumni have been added to our ranks.
The School of Applied Technology at Alfred State College is pleased to announce that the relatively new automotive parts technology curriculum, begun in fall 2007, will be offered in an online format beginning fall 2008. This new format was approved at a recent partnership meeting with ASC and UNI-SELECT.

Threatening skies could not dampen the joy at Alfred State College recently as ASC alumna Barbara Becker, '47, of Corning, visited campus to participate in the dedication of a bench and perpetual garden in memory of her parents, Leo and Frances Becker.
Allegany Arc recently contributed $1,000 to the Khalid Ashraf Memorial Endowed Scholarship at Alfred State College. The scholarship honors the memory of Dr. Khalid Ashraf who was killed in an accident in June 2007. The money is a result of contributions Arc received as memorials in Ashraf's name after his passing last year.
Friends, relatives, and colleagues of the late Alice Foust gathered on the Alfred State College campus recently to dedicate a bench and garden in her memory. Foust, who served as a cleaner on campus until her retirement in 2005, lost her battle with cancer last year.
Smiles were the order of the day, Thursday, May 8, when Alfred State College, its faculty, staff, alumni, retirees, students, friends from all walks of life, and SUNY (State University of New York) gathered to celebrate the 100th anniversary of the school's founding.
