Alfred State College students, faculty, and staff continue their fund raising efforts for Haiti relief and are pleased to note that the college community has so far raised $5,779.24 for Haiti Outreach, directed by Neil Van Dine,
Smiles were the order du jour as Alfred State College and ACES (Auxiliary Campus Enterprises and Services) officials and contractors cut the ribbon at the new Terrace Dining Room at the Central Dining Hall on the Alfred campus.
Although Alfred State College can be justifiably proud of its diverse and tasty student dining experience, does that automatically equate to customer satisfaction? Happily, the answer to that question is a resounding yes!
Alfred State College faculty and staff enhanced their own holiday spirit by contributing toys, hats, gloves, and scarves as their “admission” to the college’s annual holiday party.

Buying local and getting rewarded for it is the driving force behind the Campus Store Rewards Program at Alfred State College. Students who purchase their books and most other college-related items at either the Wellsville or Alfred Campus Store will receive points toward future purchases from the store.
College students from earlier times may recall a one-size fits all college dining experience that included little flavor and long cafeteria lines. Alfred State College students can’t relate. That’s because ASC student meal plans include dining options at three of the top 10 restaurant chains in the country, based on a recent survey of the top 400 chain establishments published by Restaurants and Institutions magazine in the July 2009 issue.
Laundry, the bane of college existence, will be become more environmentally-friendly, if not more enjoyable, at Alfred State College this fall. The largest laundry room on campus in the MacKenzie Complex has been completely updated and the results will fit in nicely with the college’s green initiative.
Alfred State College employees once again participated in the annual Take Our Daughters and Sons to Work® Day in April. This event is open to employees' children, grandchildren, grandsons, nieces, and nephews between the ages of nine and 15.
