Drama Club to perform ‘Hairspray the Musical’ April 11-13

The Alfred State Drama Club will dazzle and delight audiences from April 11-13 with its upcoming performance of “Hairspray the Musical” at the Orvis Activities Center.

Hairspray shares the story of Tracy, a young girl from Baltimore, whose goal is to make it onto the Corny Collins Show to display her talents and integrate the white and black communities on national television in a 1960s segregated Baltimore. Alfred State's production of Hairspray stars Katie Brooks, a digital media and animation major from Walton, as Tracy Turnblad.

The show times are as follows:

  • Thursday, April 11 – 7 p.m.
  • Friday, April 12 – 7 p.m.
  • Saturday, April 13 – 2 p.m. and 7 p.m.
