Emeritus Professor Morgan Speaks at 10th Annual Burns Supper

Terry Morgan, Alfred State College emeritus professor of English and Humanities, spoke at Andover’s 10^th Annual Burns Supper on Saturday, Jan. 19.

The Burns Suppers are held throughout the world to commemorate the birth of Robert Burns, Scotland’s national poet, in 1759. Morgan’s talk focused on Burns’ young life in Ayrshire, Scotland, and influences on the poet in the years before he became a celebrated figure, first in Scotland and, in a short time, in Europe and the United States.

The original organizers of the Andover Burns Suppers include Celtic metalsmith and jeweler Stephen Walker; Anthony Lipnicki; and Dr. John Hunter, past president of Alfred State College.
