Women 3rd, Men 5th in Latest XC Poll

The Alfred State women's team is now ranked #3 and the men's team is ranked #5 in the latest NJCAA Division III poll. The Pioneers had held the #2 spot in each of the polls the past two weeks.

The Alfred State women's team is now ranked #3 and the men's team is ranked #5 in the latest NJCAA Division III poll. The Pioneers had held the #2 spot in each of the polls the past two weeks.


The Pioneers spent last weekend competing at the Hamilton Invitational.  The women's team finished 8th while the men were 9th.  Kim Lupo (Auburn) was the top finisher on the women's side in the 5k course. She crossed the finish line in 21:12.9 to earn 65th place  Jordan Rusek (Williamsville East) was the top male finisher with a 48th place finish. He ran the 5-mile course in 28:54.2.


Mohawk Valley CC is ranked #1 in this week's poll on the women's side followed by Gloucester (NJ) CC, Alfred, Delhi, Ocean CC, Suffolk CC, Howard (MD) CC, Joliet (IL) College, Herkimer CCC, and Fashion Institute of Technology.


Harper (IL) College is in the top spot in the men's poll followed by Gloucester, Delhi, Mohawk Valley, and Alfred.  Howard, Ocean, Suffolk, Lorain (OH) CC, and Queensborough CC.


The Pioneers head to the DeSales Invitational on Saturday where they will have their first look of the season at Gloucester CC.
