Uncle Alfred's Sub Shop has joined the Alfred State College Campus Partner program. The program allows students to use their Campus Card debit account at area businesses who participate in the program.

The off-campus Campus Partner program is a partnership between the college and area businesses that is managed by Auxiliary Campus Enterprises and Services (ACES). This is the third year of the program and Uncle Alfred's Sub Shop is the tenth vendor to join.

“We’re excited to have Uncle Alfred's join our partner program,” said Stephen Schnorr, ACES Executive Director. “With just three weeks into the semester, the program has put over $60,000 into the local economy. This is a significant increase over the 2009 opening weeks, and we couldn’t be more pleased with the program.”

The program was the brainchild of retiring ACES Executive Director, Thomas Massara.

“It helps students by giving them access to purchasing power, even if their cash resources are scarce,” Massara said. “It also provides a bridge to local merchants who need student business to keep their doors open.”

The Campus Partners are: The Terra Cotta Coffeehouse, Little Sicily’s Pizza & Restaurant, Fox’s Pizza, The Collegiate, Alfred Pharmacy, Pizza King, Short’s (2 locations in Wellsville), Hott Spot, Hot Diggity Dogs, and now Uncle Alfred's Sub Shop.
