Three Pointers Lead Pioneers Past JCC-Olean

The Alfred State College men's basketball team connected on 11 three-pointers as they snapped a four game losing streak with a 86-65 victory over JCC Olean.  The Pioneers hit 11 out of 22 three pointers (7 for 12 in the first half) on the game.

The Alfred State College men's basketball team connected on 11 three-pointers as they snapped a four game losing streak with a 86-65 victory over JCC Olean.  The Pioneers hit 11 out of 22 three pointers (7 for 12 in the first half) on the game.

Neil Wilson (Ft. Worth, TX) led the blue & gold with 20 points and eight rebounds while Rasean Parris (Brroklyn/Benjamin Banneker) recorded a double-double with 14 points and 12 rebounds.  Reggie Corley (Elmira Free) netted 14 points in his first start of the season while Jose Stable (Brooklyn/EBC Bushwick) finished with 13 points and 14 boards.

The Pioneers scored 19 points off their bench, Brendan Letteer (Odessa Montour) had eight and Ryan Caron (Prattsburgh) had six).  ASC also held a 52 to 27 advantage on the boards.

Travis Wright led the Jaguars with 18 poins while Rameek Boyd added 14.  DeParris Banks and Isiah Woods each chipped in nine.  Olean shot just 39.3% from the field, 30.8% from three, and 44.8% from the foul line.

The Pioneers are now 10-13 overall on the season and 4-4 in WNYAC play.  They travel to Mercyhurst North East on Saturday for a 3 p.m. tip-off with the Saints.  The Pioneers defeated MNE 71-55 at the Orvis Activities Center earlier this season.
