The Alfred State College volleyball team won the Mohawk Valley CC Tournament for the third year in a row with a perfect 5-0 record.  The Lady Pioneers downed Adirondack CC (23-25, 25-9, 15-8), Herkimer CCC (25-11, 25-20), and Mohawk Valley CC (25-7, 25-11) in pool play before downing Monroe CC (25-18, 25-21) in the semis and Adirondack CC (25-8, 25-17) in the finals.

The Alfred State College volleyball team won the Mohawk Valley CC Tournament for the third year in a row with a perfect 5-0 record.  The Lady Pioneers downed Adirondack CC (23-25, 25-9, 15-8), Herkimer CCC (25-11, 25-20), and Mohawk Valley CC (25-7, 25-11) in pool play before downing Monroe CC (25-18, 25-21) in the semis and Adirondack CC (25-8, 25-17) in the finals.

Jenni Jerome (Syracuse/Westhill) was named the tournament MVP following a big day.  She finished with 37 kills, 30 digs, and three service aces. 

Yurika Toyodome (Tokyo, Japan) and Breanna Horton (Owego Free) were each named to the all-tournament team.  Toyodome finished with 36 kills, 29 digs, 15 service aces, and four blocks while Horton passed out 106 assists on the day and collected 12 kills and six aces.

Emily Linn (Portville) chipped in 32 kills, four blocks, and two aces while Miki Inoue (Kumamoto, Japan) finished with 28 digs, 10 aces, and nine kills.

The Lady Pioneers, pre-season ranked #6 in the NJCAA Division III, have a week to prepare for the Jefferson CC Tournament in Watertown.  Brackets will be announced early this week and action is set to begin at 10 a.m.
