Rockland rallies to down Pioneers

The Alfred State College men's basketball team led most of the way but Rockland CC rallied to tie the game in the second half and went on for a 78-73 victory in day two action at the Monroe CC Classic.  The Hawks improve to 1-1 while the Pioneers are 0-2.

The Alfred State College men's basketball team led most of the way but Rockland CC rallied to tie the game in the second half and went on for a 78-73 victory in day two action at the Monroe CC Classic.  The Hawks improve to 1-1 while the Pioneers are 0-2.

Rockland tied the game at 66-66 late in the contest and then went on a 12-7 run to earn the victory.  The Hawks held a 47 to 33 advantage including 25 offensive rebounds.

Dan Foley (Irondeqequoit) led the way with 17 points and six rebounds for the Blue and Gold.  Chris Lorenzo (Corcoran) added 14 points and four assists and Neil Wilson (Fort Worth, TX) chipped in 13 points all in the first half.

Alfred State will look to pick up their first victory of the season as they open up the home portion of the season with a 7:30 p.m. contest versus Broome CC.
