Wallace threw a complete game four-hitter in game one. He didn't allow an earned run, walked three, and struck out four. Karl Kofmel (Ottawa, ONT) and Ryan Barkley (Penn Yan) collected two-run singles in the 1st inning to get the Pioneers off to a fast start. Ervay, Brian Zimmerman (Frontier), and Justin DiCarlo (Oakville, ONT) each collected two hits.
In the nightcap, Ervay held the Saints without a hit for the first 4.2 innings.. He finished the game tossing 6.1 innings allowing just two hits and one earned run. He walked two and struck out six. Mark Cicotti (Horseheads) recorded the final two outs. Jake Dale (Keshequa) keyed the offense with a 3 for 4, 2 RBI day while Berto Vargas (Norman Thomas) finished 2 for 2 with two runs scored.
The Pioneers and Saints (10-13, 1-5 Region III Division II) continue their four game series on Saturday with a 1 p.m. doubleheader at ASC Field.
