The Alfred State College lacrosse team fell behind early and never could recover as #1 Onondaga CC downed the Pioneers 28-7.  OCC finishes the regular season with a 11-0 mark while ASC is now 8-3 with two games remaining.

The Alfred State College lacrosse team fell behind early and never could recover as #1 Onondaga CC downed the Pioneers 28-7.  OCC finishes the regular season with a 11-0 mark while ASC is now 8-3 with two games remaining.

Josh Mateo (Waterloo) led Alfred State with three points (1 goal and two assists) while defensemen Mitch Mertel (Churchville) scored twice and Ryan Grogan (Waterloo) had a goal and an assist.  Tony Micelotta (Irondequoit), James Moss (Hilton), and Ben Rossignolo (Churchville) each scored once for the blue and gold.

Marshall Merritt (Marcellus) made 30 saves in net for Alfred State.

OCC jumped out to a 7-1 after a quarter and led 13-1 at halftime.  ASC was able to get the offense going in the 3rd by scoring five goals but never could get back in the game.

The #10 ranked Pioneers play their final home game of the season on Saturday when they host Jefferson CC.  Opening faceoff is scheduled for 1 p.m.
