Alfred State College and Jamestown CC split a WNYAC doubleheader on homecoming Saturday.  The Jayhawks won the opener 3-2 but the Pioneers won game two 2-1 in 10 innings.  ASC is now 7-5 on the season.

Alfred State College and Jamestown CC split a WNYAC doubleheader on homecoming Saturday.  The Jayhawks won the opener 3-2 but the Pioneers won game two 2-1 in 10 innings.  ASC is now 7-5 on the season.

Kyle Barkley (Penn Yan) doubled home Brian Ervay (Elmira Southside) in the bottom of the 10th to lift the Pioneers to the game two victory.  The hit made Joe Wallace (Avoca) a winner of the mound.  He tossed all ten innings allowing one earned run and nine hits while walking one and striking out 14.  The Pioneers offense was held to just five hits on the day.

In the opener, Jamestown CC broke a 2-2 tie with a run in the 4th and two in the 7th en route to the victory.  Ervay collected the only RBI hit for the Pioneers collecting a two-run double in the 3rd inning.  ASC was held to just four hits.

Alfred State is scheduled to play their WNYAC fall regular season doubleheader on Sunday.  First pitch versus Genesee CC is set for 1 p.m.
