The Alfred State men's track and field team finished 2nd while the women finished 3rd in a quad meet held at Pioneer Stadium. RIT's men team won the meet with 184 points while Alfred University won the women's competition with 196.5 points.

The Alfred State men's track and field team finished 2nd while the women finished 3rd in a quad meet held at Pioneer Stadium.  RIT's men team won the meet with 184 points while Alfred University won the women's competition with 196.5 points.

On the men's side, Shawn Charles (Rochester/Greece Olympia) won the 100 m dash and qualified for Nationals with a run of 11.25.  He was also 2nd in the 200 m dash (22.77).  Garrison Koehler (Bath) won the 800 m (2:07.41)

Travis Nagle (Randolph) was 2nd in the pole vault (4.20 m), Jayvon Larkin (Rochester/Wilson) was 2nd in the triple jump (13.01 m), James Courte (Brewster) was 3rd in the long jump (6.04 m), and Rawle Crawford (Mt. Vernon) was 4th in the 200 m (23.10).

In throwing events, Brian Edwards (Neversink/Tri-Valley) won the discus and qualified for nationals with a toss of 42.34.  Robert Howard (Syracuse/Nottingham) was 2nd in the discus (39.28 m) and also qualified for nationals.  Adam Kellogg (Wellsville) qualfied for nationals in the hammer throw with a 4th place finish (40.52 m).  Alex Hewlett (Wellsville) was 2nd in the javelin with a toss of 47.74 m.

The men's 4x100 relay team of Brian Tubbs (Chemung/Waverly), Hewlett, Crawford, and Charles finished 2nd and qualified for nationals with a 43.48.  The 4x400 relay team of Hewlett, Tubbs, Zachary Woodard (Adams Center/South Jefferson), and Crawford also finished 2nd (3:29.71) and qualified for nationals.

Briana Dorsey (Rochester/School of the Arts) won the 100 m dash (13.06) and the 200 m dash (27.43) while Tara Murphy (Rochester/Wilson) won the 400 m (59.18).  Megan Votava (Alfred Almond) qualified for Nationals with a 2nd place finish in the 100 hurdles (17.05) and a 2nd place finish in the discus (29.48 m).

The 4x100 relay team of Caitlyn Hotchkiss (Springville), Dorsey, Shea McKee (Canisteo Greenwood), and Kayla Franchina (Cassadaga Valley) qualified for Nationals with a 2nd place finish (51.63).  The 4x400 relay team of Hotchkiss, Dorsey, McKee, and Murphy won the competition in 4:18.86.

Hotchkiss qualified for Nationals in the 400 m (64.37) and Holli Pierce (Livonia) qualified in the triple jump (9.46 m).

RIT scored 184 points to win the men's title followed by Alfred State's 152 points.  AU was 3rd with 121.5 and FLCC was 4th with 46.5.

AU scored 196.5 points on the women's side followed by RIT's 163.5, Alfred State with 112, and FLCC with 24.

The blue & gold return to action on Saturday when they travel to Nazareth College for a 10 a.m. start.
