Pioneer Cross Country Debuts in Top Ten

The Alfred State College cross country teams are both in the NJCAA Division III top ten.  The men are rankd 3rd while the women are tied for 7th.

The Pioneers men are coming off a 1st place finish at the ASC Invitational this past weekend.  They sit in 3rd place in the national poll with 240 points.  Ahead of them in the poll are Region III rivals SUNY Delhi (300 points) and Mohawk Valley CC (270 points).  Region III schools Broome CC (5th) and Finger Lakes CC (10th) are also in the poll.

The Lady Pioneers won the ASC invitational this past weekend and earned 100 points to tie Harper (IL) College in the 7th spot.  Ocean CC sits in first place with 290 followed by Region III's Mohawk Valley CC, Broome CC, SUNY Delhi, and Erie CC.

Both the men and the women will compete at Finger Lakes CC on Saturday.  The race will be a preview of the NJCAA Division III Championship course.  Action is scheduled to begin at 11 a.m. in Canandaigua.
