The Alfred State lacrosse team scored the game's first twelve goals en route to a 19-6 victory over Mohawk Valley on Saturday. The win improves the Pioneers to 4-8 on the season and 3-7 in Region III play.

The Alfred State lacrosse team scored the game's first twelve goals en route to a 19-6 victory over Mohawk Valley on Saturday.  The win improves the Pioneers to 4-8 on the season and 3-7 in Region III play.

Alfred State led 3-0 after the 1st, 8-0 at half, and 14-3 after three quarter.  Eight different players registered points and the whole squad saw game action.

Mike Hart (Ajax, ONT) led the way with five goals and three assists.  Chance Lowry (Waterloo) had three goals and two assists while Lance Elithorpe (Shaftsbury, VT) finished with two goals and three assists.  Brad Zacher (Medina) netted four goals, Jordan Napierala (West Irondeqouit) scored twice, and Kyle Davis (Cortland/Homer) had two assists.  Danny Weimer (Derby/Lake Shore) also was credited with an assist.

Brad Stowell (Marcellus) earned the win in net with six saves in the game's first 42 minutes.  Randy Kryszak (Orchard Park) made five saves in relief.

The Pioneers held a 55 to 20 shot advantage for the contest.

Alfred hits the road next week for two road contests.  They travel to Cayuga CC (game to be played at Marcellus High School) on Wednesday for a 7:30 p.m. faceoff with the Spartans.
