Alfred State freshmen soccer players Kali Muhleisen (Alfred Almond) and Hannah Holmok (Alfred Almond) have been named to the NJCAA Division III All-American team. Muhleisen was a 1st team selection while Holmok was named to the second team.
Muhleisen led the Pioneers with 31 goals and eight assists on the season. The 70 points was tops on the team an tied for 3rd in the country. Her 31 goals was also 3rd best in the country. Muhleisen recorded hat tricks vs. Jefferson CC, Genesee CC, Erie CC, Cayuga CC, Roberts Wesleyan JV, and Penn College. She scored at least two goals in four more contest and recorded two 7-point games. Muhleisen found the back of the net in 15 of the Lady Pioneers 19 games this year and was held pointless in just two contests.
The duo becomes the second and third Lady Pioneers to ever earn All-American status from the NJCAA joining Alfred State Hall of Famer Jody Alverez who was an All-American in 2003.
Previously, Muhleisen and Holmok were both named 1st team All-Region and 1st team All-WNYAC.
Head coach Anne Holmok is very proud of the honors. "Kali and Hannah were integral parts of our teams success this year. We had a great season full of memories and having two players earn this high honor not only is recognition for them but for our program."
Region III was well represented in the awards with eight players that competed in the highly competitive league earning All-American honors.
Alfred State finished the season with a 17-2 overall record and reached the #1 ranking in the NJCAA Division III poll. The Lady Pioneers were the #1 seed in the Region III Division III tournament and won the WNYAC DIII crown with a perfect record.
