The Alfred State College men's soccer team is in the NJCAA Division III poll for the fourth straight week. The Pioneers are ranked #11 in the latest poll. The team is currently 8-3 overall and 8-1 in Region III Division III play.
Last week the Pioneers fell 3-0 to Division I Monroe CC but bounced back with a 1-0 shutout of Niagara CCC. Yesterday they won their seventh straight Region III Division III game with a 2-0 victory at Erie CC.
Jason Durst (Gates Chili) and Caleb Drake (Jasper Troupsburg) lead the offense with five goals each while the defense has recorded five shutouts on the season and have held opponents to just 15 goals on the season.
Other Region III teams in the poll include: #2 Hudson Valley CC, #5 Herkimer CCC, and #8 Mohawk Valley CC.
The Blue and Gold are back on the field on Thursday when they host JCC-Olean for a 4 p.m. contest at ASC's athletic complex.
