Men 3rd, Women 7th at Delhi Invite

The Alfred State College swimming team had a solid outing at the SUNY Delhi Invitational. The men finished 3rd out of 13 teams while the women were 7th out of 14 teams.

The Alfred State College swimming team had a solid outing at the SUNY Delhi Invitational. The men finished 3rd out of 13 teams while the women were 7th out of 14 teams.

Braden Kozlowski (N. Tonawanda) led the way by winning the 1650 free in 18:59.11 and finishing 2nd in the 500 free (5:29.48).  Ethan Wright (Clyde Savannah) was 3rd in the 200 free (1:59.72) and 4th in the 100 fly (59.25) while Jake Giglio (Hornell) was 3rd in the 50 free (23.60).

The 200 free relay team of Wright, Josh Stellrecht (Oakfield Alabama), Giglio, and Kozlowski finished 2nd in 1:36.02 while the 200 medley relay team of Kozlowski, Tim Guarino (Cornwall), Wright, and Giglio finished 3rd (1:50.14).

Rebecca Haskins (Shaker) led the women with a 2nd place finish in the 1 m diving competition (137.60 points).  Sabrina Dunning (Cuba Rushford) was 3rd in the 1650 free (23:14.87), Ashley Andrus (Cuba Rushford) was 4th in the 100 back (1:12.29) and 5th in the 200 IM (2:39.43), and Cristina Corkey (Almond) was 6th in the 100 breast. 

The women's quartet also combined to finish 2nd in the 200 free relay in 1:57.85.

The men scored 154 points on the day while the women scored 114. 

ASC wraps up the 2010 portion of their season on Wednesday when they travel to Monroe CC for a 6 p.m. WNYAC dual with the Tribunes.
