The Alfred State College volleyball team won the opening game versus Niagara CCC 25-23 but were slowed down by poor serving and passing and fell in the next three, 20-25, 17-25, 23-25.  The Lady Pioneers fall to 4-5 (3-4 Region III Division III) on the season.

The Alfred State College volleyball team won the opening game versus Niagara CCC 25-23 but were slowed down by poor serving and passing and fell in the next three, 20-25, 17-25, 23-25.  The Lady Pioneers fall to 4-5 (3-4 Region III Division III) on the season.

Emily Linn (Portville) had a solid day for the blue & gold registering 21 kills in 36 attempts.  She also registered 13 digs and four blocks.  Bobbi Hopkins (Southwestern) finished with seven kills and eight digs, Brittany Haines (Salamanca) passed out 30 assists and had nine digs, and Heather Gerace (Avon) and Chrissy Nolan (Niagara Wheatfield) each finished with eleven digs.

The Lady Pioneers now shift their focus to the Cara Bryant Memorial Tournament that begins on Friday at Onondaga CC on Friday.  ASC will take on Fulton Montgomery CC at 3 p.m., Mohawk Valley CC at 4:15 p.m., and SUNY Delhi at 6:45 p.m. on Friday and then wrap up pool play on Saturday with a 9 a.m. contest with Onondaga CC.
