Lady Pioneers Ranked 8th, Parks named Goalie of the Week

The Alfred State College women's soccer team moved up two spots in the latest NJCAA Division III poll.  ASC is now ranked #8 after debuting last week in the 10th spot.  Lady Pioneer goalie Mo Parks (Avoca) was named the NJCAA Division III goalie of the week as well.

The Alfred State College women's soccer team moved up two spots in the latest NJCAA Division III poll.  ASC is now ranked #8 after debuting last week in the 10th spot.  Lady Pioneer goalie Mo Parks (Avoca) was named the NJCAA Division III goalie of the week as well.

The women's soccer team is 3-1 since the release of the last national poll and are 7-1-2 on the season (6-1-2 in Region III Division III play).  Since the last poll, ASC downed Genesee CC 3-0, fell to #4 ranked Broome CC 1-0 in overtime, and shutout both Niagara CCC and JCC-Olean 2-0.

Parks has been solid in net all season long for the Lady Pioneers.  She has recorded seven shutouts and has a 0.29 goals against average.  She has allowed just three goals all season.  She has made 39 saves in the past four games.

Region III is well represented in the latest NJCAA poll.  Herkimer CCC (10-0) is ranked 2nd, Broome CC (9-2) is ranked 4th, Finger Lakes CC (8-2) is 5th, and Mohawk Valley CC (8-2) is 10th.

Alfred State returns to action on Thursday when they host Erie CC at 6:30 p.m. at Pioneer Stadium.
