Lady Pioneers Race Past Kats

Camille Romero (Queens Village/Mary Louis) and Amie Brooks (Pavilion) had big days as the Alfred State College women's basketball team downed Erie CC 73-52.  The win evens the Lady Pioners record at 12-12 (2-6 RIII DII) while the Kats fall to 9-14 (2-6 RIII DII).

Camille Romero (Queens Village/Mary Louis) and Amie Brooks (Pavilion) had big days as the Alfred State College women's basketball team downed Erie CC 73-52.  The win evens the Lady Pioners record at 12-12 (2-6 RIII DII) while the Kats fall to 9-14 (2-6 RIII DII).

Romero netted 29 points on 10 for 20 shooting to lead all scorers while Brooks chipped in 12 points, eight rebounds, and seven assists.  Ardaisha Hudson (Brooklyn/Food and Finance) finished with nine points and 11 rebounds, Carriola Chambers (New York/Facing History) and Tiffany Walton (Brooklyn/William Grady) each had seven, and Shadeeka Campbell (Brooklyn/William Grady) added 11 boards.

The Lady Pioneers led 24-21 at half but shot 50% in the second half and tallied 49 points in the second half.  ASC finished shooting 36.5% from the field for the day.

Breanna Harris led the Kats with 20 pionts while Jasmine Ball finished with 18 points and 10 rebounds.  ECC shot 30.5% from the field but was slowed down by 26 turnovers.

ASC returns to action on Thursday when they travel to Niagara CCC for a 5:30 p.m. contest with the Thunder Wolves.
