The Alfred State College women's soccer team scored three goals in the final 16 minutes to run their unbeaten streak to seven games.  With the 3-0 win over Genesee CC the Lady Pioneers are now 5-0-2 (4-0-1 Region III Division III) on the season.

The Alfred State College women's soccer team scored three goals in the final 16 minutes to run their unbeaten streak to seven games.  With the 3-0 win over Genesee CC the Lady Pioneers are now 5-0-2 (4-0-1 Region III Division III) on the season.

Jessie Smith (Fredonia) opened the scoring after getting a pass from Jackie Matteson (Greece Arcadia).  Mckenzie Finnemore (Genesee Valley) scored the Lady Pioneers second goal and assisted on an insurance goal by Hailey Post (Jasper Troupsburg). 

In net, Mo Parks (Avoca) continued to be stingy.  She made 11 saves to record her fifth shutout of the season.

Earlier in the day, the Lady Pioneers made their 2009 debut in the NJCAA Division III poll.  Alfred State is now ranked #10 in the country.  Region III foes, Herkimer CCC (2nd), Broome CC (4th), and Finger Lakes CC (6th) are also in the national poll.

ASC concludes their four game roadtrip on Thursday when they travel to Binghamton for a 4 p.m. contest with Broome CC.
