Jack Timerson scored with 1:27 remaining to break an 11-11 tie and lift Finger Lakes CC to a 12-11 victory over Alfred State in a key Region III battle.  The one-goal loss was the third of the season for the blue & gold.

FLCC jumped out to a 6-2 lead in the 1st quarter but the Pioneers clawed back into the game and trailed just 7-6 at halftime.  The Lakers built their lead by scoring four of the first five goals of the 2nd half to build a 11-7 lead with just over four minutes left.  The Pioneers then put together an offensive run in which they scored four goals in 47 seconds to tie the game up with 3:25 remaining.

After possessing the ball for nearly two minutes, Timerson found the back of the net after getting a pass from Steve Campaniello.  The Pioneers had possession of the ball in the final seconds but John Perrucci stood tall in net and denied the Pioneers last second chance.

Mike Hart (Ajax, ONT) led the Pioneers with four goals while Jordan Napierala (West Irondequoit) finished with two goals and an assist.  Chance Lowry (Waterloo) finished with a goal and two assists, Brad Zacher (Medina) netted two goals, and Danny Weimer (Derby/Lake Shore) and Kyle Davis (Cortland/Homer) both scored once.  East Aurora grads Morris Rogers, Aaron Koskowski, and Keegan Phalen were all credited with an assist.

The Lakers were led by Campaniello's three goals and two assist.  Timerson finished with a hat trick along with one assist.

Pioneer goalie Brad Stowell (Marcellus) made 22 saves in net while Perrucci made 20 saves for the Lakers.

The Pioneers (3-8, 2-7 Region III) host Mohawk Valley CC on Saturday for a 1 p.m. faceoff.
