Gross and Reynolds to Compete at Penn Relays

David Gross (Brockport) and Dan Reynolds (Wayland Cohocton) will represent Alfred State College at this week's prestigious Penn Relays in Philadelphia, PA.  The duo will compete in the annual event that has taken place since 1895.

David Gross (Brockport) and Dan Reynolds (Wayland Cohocton) will represent Alfred State College at this week's prestigious Penn Relays in Philadelphia, PA.  The duo will compete in the annual event that has taken place since 1895.

Gross will compete at 11:15 a.m. on Friday in the shot put.  Gross' top throw of the year came at the NJCAA indoor track & field championship where he recorded a toss of 16.33 m.  His best throw of the outdoor season came this past weekend at SUNY Brockport (14.51 m).  Currently, Gross is ranked 2nd on the NJCAA Division III performance list.

Reynolds will compete at 3 p.m. on Friday in the pole vault.  Reynolds' top leap of the year came at the NJCAA indoor track & field championships where he won the competition with a vault of 4.72 m.  His top performance during the outdoor season was 4.35 m this past weekend at SUNY Brockport.  Currently, Reynolds sits in the top spot on the NJCAA Division III performance list.

After competing at the Penn Relays, Gross and Reynolds will shift their focus to the outdoor post season.  Regionals are scheduled for May 1-2 in Orchard Park, NY and Nationals will be competed at Alfred State between May 7-9.
