Jason Gildner has been named the new men's soccer coach at Alfred State College. Gildner a former assistant coach at ASC and a 2005 graduate takes over a team that was 14-4 in 2008 and advanced all the way to the Region III Division III finals.

Jason Gildner has been named the new men's soccer coach at Alfred State College.  Gildner, a former assistant coach at ASC and a 2005 graduate, takes over a team that was 14-4 in 2008 and advanced all the way to the Region III Division III finals.

As a Pioneer assistant coach between 2005 and 2007, Gildner helped set up daily practices, provided technical information and hands on skills training, and helped coach the 2006 team that advanced all the way to the Region III Division III Final Four.

Currently, Gildner works at Alfred State as a multi-media technician and as the college photographer.

Gildner graduated from Portville Central School in 2001 and attained a associate degree in liberal arts and humanities from Alfred State in 2005.

Preseason practices begin next week for the 2009 season as the blue and gold will look to make a return trip to the Region III Division III final four.

Gildner resides in Wellsville with his wife and his three children.
