The Lady Pioneers shot just 18.4% from the field in the 1st half and trailed 23-16 at the break. The offense picked up for Alfred State but the team could never climb closer than six points in the 2nd half. JCC led by as many as 14.
Nikole Lindquist was 10 for 17 from the field and 3 for 4 from three to lead all scorers with 25 points. Alicia Stebbins finished with 15 and Jillian Brunswick chipped in 10.
Haley Witchella (Oxford Academy) wrapped up an impressive freshman campaign with 17 points, 17 rebounds, and six blocks. Camille Romero (Queens Village/Mary Louis) chipped in 12 and Nuri Bey (Bronx/HS of Computers & Technology) recorded a double-double with 10 points and 12 boards.
Alfred State shot 23.8% for the game and was 0 for 14 from three. Jamestown shot 30.8% for the game and connected on three Lindquist three-pointers.
The loss snapped the Pioneers eight game winning streak while the win moves the Jayhawks to the championship game on Sunday where they will take on Erie CC who upset the #1 seed Mercyhurst North East in the other semifinal.
Alfred State finishes the season with a 18-9 overall record.
