Alfred State College sophomores Brittney Brooks (Elmira Free) and Shawna McNeil (Hornell) have been named to the Region III Division II All-Region team.  Brooks was a 1st team selection while McNeil was a 2nd team selection.

Alfred State College sophomores Brittney Brooks (Elmira Free) and Shawna McNeil (Hornell) have been named to the Region III Division II All-Region team.  Brooks was a 1st team selection while McNeil was a 2nd team selection.

Brooks led the Pioneers with 591 points and 242 rebounds on the season.  Her 591 points in a single season is second best in school history.  She scored in double figures in all but three games and had 17 games with more than 20 points and 4 games with more than 30 points.  Versus Elmira JV on 1/13 she had a career high 40 points to go along with 13 rebounds.  On the season she averaged 21.9 points, 9.0 rebounds, 3.2 assists, 2.2 steals, and 1.7 blocks per game.

Brooks finishes her two year career at Alfred State as the program's scoring leading scorer.  She became ASC's first 1,000 point scorer and finished with 1,046 points breaking the previous top mark by 130 points.

This is the second year in a row that Brooks was named 1st team All-Region.  Last year she was named Player of the Year and went on to be named NJCAA Division II All-American.

McNeil used a strong second half of the season to earn All-Region honors.  McNeil finished the season the 235 points (8.7 per game) and 140 rebounds (5.2 per game).  In the second half of the season she scored in double figures in seven of the thirteen games and had a career high 23 points vs. Genesee.  She also averaged 1.0 assists per game, 0.9 steals, and 0.4 points.  She ended the year shooting 42.6% (84 for 197) from the field.

Brooks and McNeil helped the Lady Pioneers to a 11-16 record and the #5 seed in the Region III Division II Tournament.
