Baseball Drops Two 1-0 Contests

The Alfred State College baseball team could not muster much offense as they were swept by identical 1-0 scores by Monroe CC.  ASC is now 3-5 in the fall season.

The Alfred State College baseball team could not muster much offense as they were swept by identical 1-0 scores by Monroe CC.  ASC is now 3-5 in the fall season.

In the opener, the Pioneers were held to two singles and allowed an unearned run in the 4th inning.  Tyler Mann (Holland Patent) took the hard luck loss allowing just two singles in seven innings of work.  He walked four and struck out four.

Monroe scored and unearned run in the 5th inning to propel them to the victory in game two.  Mitchell Kippola (Ithaca) allowed three singles in seven innings of work for the Pioneers.  He walked two and struck out three.  ASC was held to just four hits but did have runners on first and second with the Tribunes recorded the final out of the contest.

The Pioneers jump out of WNYAC play on Sunday when they take on an Alumni squad beginning at 1 p.m.  They then travel to Williamsport, PA to take on Penn Tech on Wednesday starting at 5 p.m.
