Witchella Leads Lady Pioneers past Corning

Haley Witchella (Oxford Academy) had a monster night as she led the Alfred State women's basketball team to a 73-65 victory over Corning CC.  The Lady Pioneers are now 5-0 on the young season.

Witchella finished the day with 26 points, 17 rebounds, ten blocks, and seven steals.  Briana Meehan (Whitesville) added 18 points, Karley Fanning (Rochester/Bishop Kearney) chipped in eight, and Jennifer Fedrick (Buffalo/Bennett) had seven points and 10 rebounds.

Alfred led by just one, 36-35, at halftime.

The blue & gold play again on Saturday when they play in the Alfred State Tournament.  They will play a doubleheader with a Noon contest vs. Westchester CC and a 8 p.m. battle with Fulton Montgomery CC.
