Men Split at Genesee

The Alfred State men's swimming team split a WNYAC double-dual on Wednesday evening.  The Pioneers fell 48-46 to Genesee CC but defeated Mercyhurst North East 58-17.  The women's team fell 44-16 to Genesee and 45-14 to Mercyhurst North East.

Troy Wagner (Niagara Wheatfield), Dylan Tiefenthaler (Owego Free), Josh McDowell (Wayland Cohocton) and Tyler Easterbrook (Bath Haverling) won the 200 medley relay (1:52.46) while Wagner, Jake Drew (Victor) Easterbrook, and Kalem Chambliss (Alfred Almond) won the 400 free relay.

McDowell won the 50 free in 25.50 while Tiefenthaler won the 100 breast in 1:09.90.

On the women's side Danielle Thone (Wappingers Falls/Roy Ketcham) won the 100 fly (1:06.90) and was 2nd in the 200 IM (2:32.82).  Christine Reil (Niagara Wheatfield) was 3rd in the 50 free (29.96) and 3rd in the 100 free (1:05.90).

The blue & gold return to action on Wednesday when they travel to Rochester for another WNYAC double-dual with Monroe CC and Mercyhurst North East.
