Lady Spikers Sweep Elmira JV

The Alfred State volleyball team closed out the regular season with a 25-18, 25-14, 25-7 victory over Elmira College JV on Wednesday.  The Lady Pioneers improve to 24-12 on the year.

Mercedes Bossard (Hornell) led the Lady Pioneers with 28 assists and four digs while Mallory Eberhardt (Lyons) finished with six kills, five aces, and four digs.  Sarah Linn chipped in six kills and four aces and Jackie Lieb (Hornell) had five kills. 

The blue & gold now shirt their focus to the WNYAC Tournament that will be held at Genesee CC in Batavia. Alfred is the #6 seed and will play #7 Mercyhurst North East in a 1st round contest at 9:30 a.m.  The winner of that match-up will take on #3 Genesee CC in the quarterfinals at 11:30 a.m.  The semifinals of the tournament are slated for 3 p.m. and the finals at 5 p.m.
