Key matchup: The Pioneers battle Globe Tech in their Homecoming contest.  The Pioneers have won two straight on the year and are 2-2 all-time in Homecoming game (defeated Stevens Tech 49-27 last week).

Colton Caldwell took the majority of snaps behind center last week and orchestrated both of the Pioneer offensive scoring drives.  Caldwell was 6 for 18 for 86 yards while Joe Frendo was 4 for 9 for 77 yards.

Keegan Phalen was named the Region III Male athlete of the week following an around performance.  He threw a 58-yard touchdown pass on a fake-punt, he averaged 34.4 points per punt in five attempts, kicked a 26-yard field goal, and made five tackles and a recorded a sack defensively.

Globe has played one common opponent, Stevens Tech, and defeated them last week.  They have split a pair of contests vs. Northeast Football Conference schools defeating Hudson Valley CC and falling to Lackawanna.

Game notes:

  • Homecoming tailgate ($10 adults/$5 kids) begins at 11 a.m. right outside of Pioneer Stadium.
  • Globe and Alfred played in Homecoming 2010 with the Pioneers coming up with an 8-3 victory in adverse weather conditions.
