Eleven Straight For Lady Pioneers

The #4 ranked Alfred State women's soccer team won their eleventh straight game with a 4-0 victory at Corning CC on Thursday.  The Lady Pioneers are now 11-1, 10-0 Region III Division III, on the year and have recorded four straight shutouts.

Kali Muhleisen (Alfred Almond) got the blue & gold on the board ten minutes into the game after getting a pass from Hannah Gilray (Fredonia).  Hannah Holmok (Alfred Almond) made it 2-0 heading into half when she scored on a penalty kick.

Holmok made it 3-0, ten minutes into the 2nd half when she netted her 7th goal of the season.  Steph Simard (Warsaw) capped the scoring in the final seconds when she bent a corner kick into the back of the net.

The Lady Pioneers held a 32 to 1 shot advantage in the contest.  Krista DeCarlo (Bayshore/West Islip) made one save to record her fourth solo shutout of the year and the team's eighth.

Alfred faces a stiff test on Saturday when they host #8 ranked Herkimer CCC at Pioneer Stadium.  The contest is slated for a 1 p.m. start.
