Lady Pioneers Sweep Corning

The Alfred State volleyball won their fourth straight match with a 25-23, 25-15, 25-19 victory over Corning CC on Wednesday.  The Lady Pioneers are now 18-7 on the year.

Kay Pfleghardt (Tioga) led the Pioneers with 14 kills and eight digs.  Lera Braun (Waterloo) had 25 assists, seven digs, and five kills while Jess Ramsey (Tioga) had a team high 17 digs.  Rebecca Hanrahan (Greene) chipped in eight kills while Mercedes Bossard (Hornell) had eight digs.

The Lady Pioneers travel to the Cara Bryant Memorial Volleyball Tournament over the weekend at Onondaga CC.  The action begins on Friday when Alfred State takes on SUNY Delhi (5:30 p.m.) and Jamestown CC (8:30 p.m.).  They take on Mohawk Valley CC (10:15 a.m.) and Onondaga CC (12:30 p.m.) on Saturday.
