Braun and Porter Named Athletes of the Week

Volleyball player Lera Braun (Waterloo) and men's soccer player Mitchell Porter (Alfred Almond) have been named the Alfred State athletes of the week.  Braun helped the Lady Pioneers to a 3-1 week while Porter and the Pioneers were 1-1.

Braun played in all 13 games of the Lady Pioneers four matches this past week.  She finished with 106 assists, 42 digs, 27 kills, and 10 service aces.  Her .421 attack percentage was top on the team for the week.

Porter scored twice and passed out two assists in the Pioneers 6-0 win over Cayuga CC on Saturday.  Porter had missed the previous two games due to injury and leads the Pioneers with seven goals and two assists.

The volleyball team next takes on Corning CC on Wednesday at home while the men's soccer team battles Corning CC on Thursday at Pioneer Stadium.
