Volleyball Sweep FLCC Pod

The Alfred State volleyball team had another impressive Saturday as they swept through the Finger Lakes CC Pod.  With wins over Mohawk Valley CC, SUNY Delhi, and Herkimer CCC the Lady Pioneers are now 17-7 overall and 12-3 in Region III Division III play.

Alfred started the day by defeating MVCC 25-18, 25-14, 25-9.  They then met up with Delhi and earned a 3-1 victory, 24-26, 25-18, 25-11, 25, 12.  They closed out the day defeating Herkimer 25-19, 25-22, 25-20.

Lera Braun (Waterloo) had a monster day with 89 assists, 33 digs, 20 kills, and eight service aces.  Kay Pfleghardt (Tioga) finished with 46 kills, 40 digs, and seven aces while Mallory Eberhardt (Lyons) chipped in 34 digs, 21 kills, and eight aces.  Jessica Ramsey (Tioga) had 52 digs and nine aces, Rebecca Hanrahan (Greene) added 17 kills and three blocks, and Brittney Hill (Corning West) contributed 14 kills and three blocks.

The Lady Pioneers now have swept three of the four Pod play weekends with one more remaining on Oct. 13th at Tompkins Cortland CC.

The Lady Pioneers have a few days off before hosting Corning CC on Wednesday evening for a 6 p.m. contest in the Orvis Activities Center.
