Seven Heaven for Lady Pioneers

The Alfred State women's soccer team defeated Niagara CCC 5-1 to earn their seventh straight victory.  The #5 ranked Lady Pioneers are now 7-1 on the season.

Niagara scored first to take the lead but the Lady Pioneers answered back to hold a 3-1 lead at half.  Kali Muhleisen (Alfred Almond) led the offense with two goals and an assist.  Taylor Dezio (Marion) and Hannah Gilray (Fredonia) each had a goal and an assist on the day.  Keri Teufel (Sachem) scored her first career goal while Anna Rath (Medina) picked up an assist.

Alfred held a 25 to 7 shot advantage in the contest.  Kayla Scharet (Warsaw) earned the win in the net by making three saves during the 1st half while Brittney Oyler (Franklinville) played the entire 2nd half and made one save (on a penalty kick).

Alfred returns to Pioneer Stadium to add to their streak on Tuesday to to take on Jamestown-Olean at 4 p.m.
